what i sowed yesterday

    hi all
    i sowed madagascar jasmine seeds ,tomato seeds ,sweet pea seeds , bird of paradise seeds apparently they take 7 years to flower, silver dust seed and carnation seeds and strawberry seeds, norway spruce and acer seeds lol
    my spare room looks like a green house lol ,
    iv recently moved house and trying to get garden into shape for spring iv built a wall 3 brick high by 15 foot long 6foot wide for my vegtables and cordend of a bit for a rockery

      when tomatoes ar established they will go in green house the cornations will go in rockery and the silver dust ,strawberrys in hanging baskets .
      my acers and spruce will go at front of house in garden when big enough

      It's early for tomatoes johny, you will have to nuture them indoors until all chance of frost has gone unless you have heat in your greenhouse. I started off one or two toms seeds today trying to get an early crop, but my main sowing will be mid March :thumbsup:

      yes seeds will be in house a while i couldent wait to sow them lol

      gon to plant spring onion seeds tomorrow and keep the back kitchen ,

      im fed up with rain over here i cant get much done

      im pretty new to gardening this will be my second year growing things ,but the first time in my new house ,

      Where do you live Johnny?

      Yup - Strelitzia (Bird of Paradise) take seven years, unless you've lucked in on Strelitzia nicolai which will take far longer and outgrow your house!!

      Spring is my favourite season, I always get a happiness rush when the first seeds germinate. It's a bit of a struggle after that with early sowings, keeping them from getting 'leggy' because its too hot in the house and not enough light.

      Strelitzia need nicking and soaking for 24 hours and a germination temp of about 24c.
      I will sow my Tomatoes in March and no earlier.:)

      live in northern ireland co/ armagh

      i give the strilitza a 24 hour soak ank nicked them

      i keep them in my reptile room its always warm in there lol
