Something in the past couple of months has been unhooking one of my bird feeders, so that I'm finding it almost empty on the ground. It's one of the mesh ones that I fill with broken biscuits. This only happens after dark and I've just been outside to find it down again, time 10.15pm - ish.

After dark I doubt it's the local crows/rooks but I know there's a badger and a squirrel around. I also discovered a female deer passing through the garden last week. Have any of these got a sweet tooth? Would the badger or deer be able to unhook it - it's nearly 6ft from the ground?

If it was over here, I would immediately suspect a raccoon but you don't have any so perhaps you have some clever big squirrels?

No not a raccoon Lori, well I don't think so. I'm beginning to think it's the squirrel but can't be sure.

@Sheal i'd say more in the realm of a squirrel...watched programmes on the tele and they're quite handy at stripping and opening :)

Just put this in your search engine and you'll see images of what they can do:dunno:

            Can squirrels open bird feeders

I know what squirrels can get up to Gail. :)

I'll have to think of some way to secure it to the table. One of these might work, do you think it'll stop a Yeti Harry. :snorky:

Tetters I'm not sure they could unhook it almost 6ft up though. The hook is almost closed and even I find it a little fiddly. :)

Perhaps I'll have to keep an overnight vigil. :th scifD36:

Gail thinks it’s a squirrel, Tetters thinks it’s a deer, but there is a third option :lunapic 130165696578242 5:
