Grow it up and down way instead of side to side if reasonably practical. Not only will it get more degree days light exposure and suffer less nutrient runff it'll be easier to mow.
A good dethatching, aerification with a garden fork and not throwing away cippings should green it up. Do't buy in CH4N2O or Iron sulphate, you can make your own and apply witha a watering can or sprayer.

Hi my lawn looks similar. However when I tried some weed and feed I spread it by hand and killed the lot. Luckily it was the front and not the large lawn at the back. What's best to weed and feed?

It's to late in the year now Jono to weed and feed. Grass growth is slowing down for the winter and if weed and feed has any effect on it I'd be surprised. Leave it until spring now when the grass and weeds are actively growing before using ay chemicals.

I've used both liquid and granular forms of weed and feed and there's not much difference between them but you will get a more even spread with liquid. Other members of GC prefer to use separate weed killers and feeds, putting the weed killer down first and leaving for a couple of weeks before using the feed.

Hi Many thanks for that. I have killed off some broad leaf weeds with spray, is it to late to seed those areas?

No it shouldn't be to late to re-seed. Grass needs a temperature of 12C or above to germinate, below that it will struggle, if it germinates at all. :)
