I speak as one who has spent the last three nights sleeping in an armchair; lying down just brings on another coughing fit. :rolleyespink: Still, reading GC through the night is a new experience ...

Why did I do it? Why did I have to go and tempt fate?

Back in March, I posted the following on the weather thread:
So guess what? Yep, with the arrival of warm, springlike weather and sunny days.....I've got a cold. :sick0026: It's a bit of a stinker too.

Still, I won't complain (much). If a cold is the worst thing I have, then I can count myself lucky. There are worse things in life.

I hope you feel better soon Trunky. :) No consolation I know but it could be worse, the news announced today that bird flu has reared it's head again in China.

Sorry to hear you're not well either Val, I hope you haven't been snuggling up with Trunky! :)

I had a cold a couple of months ago, the cold itself wasn't to bad but the cough drove me mad, couldn't sleep, couldn't lay down, just hacking and hacking. Up until a couple of years ago I didn't think any cough medicine worked but 'Pholcodine' does! Within a couple of days the cough started to break, I now swear by it, give it a try. :)

Thanks Sheal, if I need to I certainly will try it. I normally buy Actifed but our chemist doesn't stock it, also used to find Merocaine lozenges absolutely brilliant and guess what, they aren't being produced anymore!!! I bought a jar of Vicks and I haven't used it for a few years and it smells different!!!:wallbanging: not as strong as before.

                  Val
