Our neighbours have this in their garden but don't know what it is. Theirs is about 3 meters tall and almost 5 meters wide. We have a sapling from it which already has buds. We were going to put these 3 branches in a vase in the house but decided otherwise as it doesn't have a particularly nice smell.

Does anyone know what it is, please?

I don't know Kedi-Gato, but it does look heavenly. The flowers look something like a Myrtle, but the leaves are all wrong.
I also await to see if someone else can enlighten us. [IMG]

You have found it Blackthorn - thank you!

Obviously the one in the neighbours garden has spread around so we'll have to watch out with ours or move it elsewhere. Thanks again!

That sounds really lovely, but it seems that you will also have to keep the suckers in check. I showed Hubby the place where we could move ours too and (hopefully!) keep it under control. A new raised bed over against a fence where the added height would be welcome, and he thinks so too.

I will post a pic of the neighbours large one later on today.

That is beautiful Kedi-Gato, both the foliage and flowers. I'm sure it will be worth putting it into your garden despite the suckering. [IMG]

Yes, I think so too Blackthorn. I'll post a pic when we get it moved in the autumn.
