What is this on rose leaves?

Can someone please tell me what this is and how to deal with it?

 

Not a rose grower but that could be blackspot, I'm sure someone will let you know for sure.

 

That link says it is on the underside of the leaves. This is only on the top of the leaves. I removed the infected leaves and tomorrow I will spray with a fungicide.

 

It's black spot Jocko. To help prevent it, create an openness in the branches when you prune early in the year to help air circulate through the foliage. Roses should also be watered at the base avoiding getting the leaves wet, as this is also a trigger. Many of the older varieties of rose are not black spot resistant so will develop it. Remove any leaves or stems with it and any that may already be laying on the surrounding soil. Destroy or bin the affected parts but don't put them in a composter as the fungus can be recycled.

 

Thanks. I have been removing the leaves. Good to know about the watering. I normally just spray them with the hose.
