    Hi,

Basically it is a red leafed plant shaped like a maple leaf and in the autumn the leaves drop off and than grow back later as dark red but changes green a little later on

Could this be a japanese acer?

    Thanks

All I can say is, it sounds like an Acer.
A picture would help, to be certain.

Hi Teatree, My plant sounds as if it could be the same as the one you are describing. It is an acer but I don`t know it`s name.
