    Hi all, am new to this gardening melarky... garden looking good except for these weeds? Not sure what they are but they grow everywhere. Have tried weed killing but nothing working they don’t die. I strim them but they all come back. Please help!

    Looks like Marestail.....a tough one to get rid of.

      +1 for marestail. Roots on old plants can be 10m long!! Crush up the leaves and weedkill, it <might> work

        Loof is right about crushing the leaves, they got a waxy coating, weed killer just runs off them :hate-shocked:

        We hoe our marestail as and when it comes up - we only have it at the allotment so don't like to use chemicals near the food we grow. I also try to dig up as much root as possible - the hoeing does help but it still comes back if there's roots.

        I expect burning off top growth would have a similar effect as hoeing? Just another option (and an excuse to play with flame gun!)

          The ONLY way to be rid of this pesky weed is to move house.
