    Another one that's been here since before I moved in, it's pretty invasive and pink.

    Its a Spirea :) a you say quite invasive by way of suckers..

      Looks like Spirea douglasii.

      Bit of a monster. Mine went from a few shoots coming up under the fence from neighbour's garden to this within a few years:

      Funny how some plants cross gardens. I have picked some great raspberries again this year ...from plants that came up my side of the fence from my neighbour. Hopefully they will end up in a pie quite soon apples almost ready.

        At least with the Spiraea you can prune it to the ground in Spring to stop it getting too big. Ours not only spreads by suckers, it seeds everywhere too!
