    Hi,
What work needs to be done to a lawn this time of the year?
    Cheers.

We usually put on a winter feed to keep it going. Don't really do anything to the soil until the spring time (but maybe we should?) - but basically a good cutting before first frost and a good feed for the winter :) Hopefully some people with really nice all year round lush green lawns can give us some useful tips!

I've put an Autumn feed down 2 weeks ago.
The blades have gone up a notch on the mower, and it'll only be getting cut every so often now.
I intend (maybe tomorrow if I have time) to scarify it, spike it and topdress it.

    Thanks for your replies.

About a month ago I used Ferrous Sulphate to kill the moss, then scarified and removed quite a bit of moss. Lawn looked bad for a time but is looking better now.

We have good soil but a lot of clay, what can I use on the lawn this time of year to improve the drainage?

To improve the drainage you could try spiking then brushing in some Grit Sand

Is Grit Sand the same or similar to Sharp Sand from the Builders Merchant?
