I have a dashcam running all the time now - far too many nutters on the road around here, so I would rather have evidence that I can use if things go wrong; not least because there are so many 'crash for cash' things happening nowadays too

Hell no, when I got onto the dual carriageway I actually wanted to try and get past him - at least if it went wrong after that it would be behind me and not in front. I swear if the guy in the newer Mazda had to brake for any reason, the idiot behind him would have been in his back seat.

Aye, you are right, he did pull out into a small gap, but then as you say in fairness it probably wasn't that small at the time the guy made his decision - reducing gap would be more appropriate.

No excuse for the behaviour of the other guy though - nothing short of dangerous.

He did the same thing a bit further on in the offside lane of the dual carriageway - right up the chuffer of the car in front (different car too)

 wasn't a female driver then FC? :phew: I do wish people would indicate at roundabouts. They are learning to in France now. Roundabouts have infected France like the plague - they love 'em and put them in all over the place. The old rule in France at a junction was priority to the vehicle coming onto the main road. Then the rule changed but the older drivers forgot to learn it....so they invented "girotoirs" and they love to plant flowers in the island and name to roundabout,

To be fair, I don't know if it was a male or a female, I only chose 'he' as a figure of speech

We had an 'exchange' from France at work (similar to the school exchange idea) and I was out with him as he was being put through his paces - twice in fairly quick succession he approached a roundabout and didn't look to the right, didn't stop, nor did he slow down - he just barged onto the roundabout regardless. I was scared witless, so ended up going upstairs and leaving the examiner to get on with it. The language from the bottom deck was foul at times [emoji3]

Needless to say, he didn't last long before going home to France

sounds lucky to have got back in one piece FC,
always best to proceed to enter a French roundabout with due caution and indicate going in and out. You never know - one or two might see the logic ,

I felt really sorry for the Post Office lorry driver - he really had to slam on his anchors so he didn't cart that idiot up the road. I don't think it shows in the video, but I really noticed the front end dip as he braked quite hard.

I have another cracker from this afternoon, but I cannot get the audio muted/removed on it, so I can't post it as I let a wee F word go ; if I can work out how to make it silent, I will try and post it later/tomorrow. Don't want to go causing any offence.

I am with Lolli thought silver vehicle was on tow for a while.
Good idea to film journeys FC. I was reliably informed that if you are involved in an accident you should take pictures of outside of vehicles, inside of vehicles and of the passengers involved as this information can help expose fraudulent claims.
Regarding roundabouts my heart is in my mouth every time I approach a roundabout in Rhodes. Whole families packed onto a moped, without a cursory look to right or left, just a toot on the horn, before driving into a mad busy traffic stream.
Though have to say, never witnessed an accident and :fingers crossed: never will.
May be a bit like the experiment in Holland where they removed all road markings and found people effectively calculate risk and give way more readily.

OK, posted with a clear warning that there is 'uncouth' language in this one (I blame the man flu - that is my excuse and I am sticking to it :snork:)

Should anyone be offended, please let me know soonest and the video will be removed.

You will see that I pull over behind the black Passat; my perception was that the silver BMW was trying to get out, and the other cars were trying to get in, and there is essentially only room for one car at a time because of the parking near the school. Then I realise that the woman in the BMW has decided to park.....

There are plenty accidents around my way, and my job has let me see how underhand people can be at apportioning blame etc.

There is also another sideline benefit of the camera - when I am wearing my work clothes (shirt, tie and a hi-vis jacket) motorists in front see the hi-vis, see something in the windscreen, and make an assumption that I might be an officer of the law..... amazing how they start behaving very suddenly based on that assumption. I have even had cars in low level flight overtaking me, spot the jacket and camera when level with me, and slam the anchors on and drop back.
