As I drive around the area, I have seen a lot of small purple flowers at the edge of drives and climbing over walls, I know it's a ground cover plant and I thought it might be Campanula, but I have only seen that in light blue and white.
Do anybody know what it is please? As I would love to have it on my front wall.

    Cheers
    Trevor

Could be an Aubretia(Rock Cress). Grows well over walls and gives great colour.

Possibly campanula portenschlagiana, a veritable weed in the South East and I suspect everywhere. More difficult to eradicate than the daleks, but very pretty and fun to deadhead.

We need a photo. I reckon it's aubretia or campanula climbing over walls etc. Vinca likes shady hedge bottoms and the flowers are medium sized mauve/blue not small and purple

[IMG] If it has just started flowering in the last couple of weeks I would say more likely Campanula as well. If it was in flower a little while back then may have been Aubretia... My Aubretia has more or less finished now, just the odd flower left. Anyway this is Aubretia.. ;)

This photo was taken from the internet too.

In addition, aubretia is the smallest flower and leaf, about 1/2", campanula is bigger, maybe 1", and vinca is the biggest. Aubretia and campanula form flower carpets with leaves only visible round the edges, vinca is not so densely flowered.
