What plants for my Lock-down Planter ?

    Hi, during lockdown I made this planter with wood that was lying around
    Took quite a while as it was design and build, so lots of 'modifications'
    Please suggest what plants I could buy to make it nice and colourful
    Some plants that are not the everyday summer bedding type; perhaps something unusual and exotic ?
    Soil area 28" long, 12.5" wide and about 13 inches deep
    Plenty drainage holes and filled with compost from B & Q garden centre
    Good sheltered position facing South/West

      Looks very good. I suggest canna lilies, exotic with big banana shaped leaves and lovely flowers. There are all sorts of varieties, dwarf to very tall some with interesting leaf colour.

        Lilies not arrived yet; hopefully this week ?

        Need more advice.....
        for soil cover in the container after I have planted the bulbs/tubers
        will something like these Sempervivums at Gardening Express be suitable ?
