    Hi Compost Maker,

At the risk of sounding like i know (which i'm not sure that i do) what i am talking about. If the Rhododendron is in erichaceous soil which i would think it is, have you thought about a camelia? I have a bright pink Rhodo and i'm planning on re-siting my camelia next to it [IMG]

You can get a cream Camellia, wouldn't stand out tho [IMG] how about some seasonal bulbs or sumfink, that way you can change whenever you like :D

If you want something permanent i think blue would be striking flower-wise, look on the Thompson and Morgan site they have a wide range :D

Try a magnolia. 'Yellow River' is a fairly new strain and it's well.....yellow and goes great with pink. I can put you on to someone if you have difficulty getting one.

If you must have purple, then a buddleia may be nice. Ask Paula. She's an expert on butterfly bushes. [IMG] :D
