I am interested to find out what roses everyone has in there gardens? And maybe how many we have as a forum? Whether there are favourites? And any other info like blackspot resistance? Maybe as the season progresses we can add photos?

Lots of new ones this year (and every year it seems)
We always try the current Rose of the Year which is You're Beautiful in 2013.
Also have a few Crazy For You

      And a couple of these

I've got one under my kitchen window - grows prolifically, doesn't smell and it's red. It's called: the deep red rose.

I've got one near my pond; tried ID'ing it here last year, but, still not 100% sure.
          It's called: the apricot rose.

I've got another one, which I pinched relocated from the front garden (because it was hidden by a rather large hebe) which is a tall specimen and red in colour.
          It's called: the red rose.

I have another one in a front border that has a cluster of pink heads. No idea what variety, but it is pretty.
          It's called: the pink rose.

I have 3 varieties of "Rosa Rugosa" which I planted when I moved here, to cover a fence, which borders the public park at the far end of my garden: one white, one pink, one purplesque. :)
They are called: Rosa Rugosa and are intermingled with pyracantha (I think you may be seeing where I was going with that scheme :heehee: )

I like the original names Mum, at least they aren't complicated. :) Can we see some pictures of them later in the year please?

Of course you may! It will be my pleasure :) (I may even get to know their "proper" names if I do that :heehee: )

Just hoping the one under the kitchen window ("deep red rose") will flower after my latest pruning session ... and I think you have already witnessed my "pruning fervour" from my recent shrub border endeavours  ... but, I'm confident "deep red rose" will thrive because this is the 2nd mahoosive hair cut it has had in the just-under-3-years I have been here. Pity really that it is in a narrow border, edging a wall and meagre path. I'm sure it would be glorious given free reign.

CRG, if you remember it's a long time since I last had roses, 20 years+, but late last year I dug a new bed and planted that with my first nine, yet to be seen in bloom, I can't wait! :) They are all/or should be floribundas.

Rob Roy is red and I want it to be my favourite, purely because of the Scottish name connection, but I'll have to wait and see how it performs in the summer, if we get one! :)

Mum, roses are pretty tough and I'm pretty sure 'Deep Red Rose' will survive. :) If you can still see tiny red buds then it should grow away happily.

I've just checked (Ozzy needed to "powder" his "nose"); no sign of buds, but on the parts I haven't pruned, there are still hips and there are signs of regrowth. This makes me feel very optimistic. Thank you :)
