It's another of the acid-lovers, Woo, usually it's California Glory, but that's usually slightly more orange than yours. It's not esactly a climber, but it likes to be against a wall, fenc or hedge, and goes up against it. I love it! But I know people who are allergic, so handle with care!

It grows really fast and can get pretty big.
It used to be classed as tender and as such suggested for growing on walls, but these days I think its more or less considered hardy.
It has a coating on the stems that is easily removed or rubbed off, this can be an irritant.
Pruning and cutting back large plants can be made difficult by this as it gets in your eyes and up your nose, and acts like itching powder.
Having said that its a spectacular plant in full flower, which it does for most of the summer.
I think there are a couple of varieties and hybrids with larger flowers.

I think they are lovely ... B&Q had them in Newport (IoW) and I almost bought one for here but didn't. Did "appropriate" a bit of a plant that was hanging off (seriously, no lie) but never got it rooted! :(

Noted, LoL - I'll get a bit next time I'm at the garden where I planted some last year.

I grew one in Hemel, but in isolation, not against a wall, and it didn't like it. I think they prefer a wall setting..... not so sure it's a hardiness issue, though.

I cant think that the wall planting can be anything other than a hardiness issue, seeing as its not a climber, but it does tend to fit in with planting against a wall apart from the fact that you need a massively high wall.
