Bought a Bosch strimmer two years ago, hate it because the line spool has a habit
of flying of and is a pain to put back, but even worse the cable has the most awful
memory, and ties itself in knots (oddly enough my Bosch hedgetrimmer cable has the same awful and dangerous memory)
So looking for a new good strimmer (not to expensive)that holds on to its line
reel and has no cable memory.doesent need to be top spec as only edge the lawn
with it before mowing, and takes only ten minutes to do.

    Ideas gratefully received Howard

I've recently bought a Stihl (Petrol though ...)

One thing I like is that you can "bump" the spool on the ground and the rotation causes it to release one new length of cable (maybe they all have that these days? The one I replaced was 20 years old - I can recommend that make too (except I can;t remember it offhand!) but it was significantly more expensive than the Stihl and I wasn't sure that a 20 year life, at the rate I use it, was important to me ...
