    Hi all

This is my first year with my own garden so I'm pretty new to it all. Our garden is a pretty blank canvas - I've dug a large boarder down one side and planted a quite a few different plants most of which are doing well.

I have really loved what I've done so far although I wish I had planned the garden out a little more rather than planting randomly!! But I'm not really sure what to do now - I just seem to be keeping the garden tidy, pulling the odd weed here and there etc etc. We have quite a lot of space for more plants but can't really afford to buy. I'd really like to grow plants from seed/bulb not just as a cheaper option but I'd like the satisfaction of starting from scratch.
So I wonder if anyone can recommend any plants I could start to grow now either outside in the bed/pots or inside - possibly to go outside next year.

    Thanks in advance!

Hi Ava....you could make a start and sow some spring bedding plants....wallflowers,forgetmenots and maybe some panseys....all these can be sown outside if you have space for a seed bed...that'll keep you out of mischief:dbgrtmb:

Hi Lolimac..... thanks for the reply:)
I like the idea of getting things planted for spring - when you say 'seed bed' - what are the differences to a normal bed? If I plant the seeds outside now will they survive over the winter?

Thanks for that. I guess my first job would be to prepare a seed bed then:rolleyespink:
