Its a large plastic tub big enough to hold a mature tree in a nursery, and its currently sitting outside on the pavement.

I'm tempted to rescue to and give it a home- but what to do with it?

It has several holes near the base, but they can be made good simply with some epoxy resin and some fibre glass. I can grab some from the boat shed.

Its too small to row in people, so sell it to me.

Scot that's not something Id considered- would you tell me more about that please? Alpine gardening is not something I know anything about.

My first thought was a small deep pond, but realised I was more excited by digging a big hole than by actually having to look after fish! Digging holes is ace!

Water feature maybe? Does anyone have one / know of one that doesnt look overly finicky or over designed?

A bog garden...? Water feature for a water lily... Bury 1/3 of it in the ground & plant with spring flowering perennial plants & some summer bulbs or a small pretty shrub like a shrub for late attraction.. A Daphne might fit that bill..:thumb:

    Comedy!

I saw someone making off with it, and dashed out to rescue My Tank.
I laid a prior claim to it and we had what amounted to a polite stand off.

He went with the 'You snooze you lose' argument, while I counted with 'Finders Keepers'.

Thankfully his plans were vaguer than mine, what with me making a bog garden with bog plants an' stuff (ahem! Thanks Marley!! :D). Plus I pointed out the holes and the expense of a repair kit. Dead arms may have been mentioned.*

Suffice it to say, he backed off and victory was mine. Hurrah! Its now sitting in my garden. :)

In my defence, I know where he lives and so if I cant find a use for it, I'll be magnanimous and take it over.

*This did not happen, this just me being silly. There were no dead arms threatened, I kicked him in the shins instead.

Melinda, finders keepers comes first, so well done.
Let us know what you decided to do with it. :-)

Occassional dead arming does not hurt. LOL
