Got a few sweet pepper and chilli plants growing happily in the greenhouse. Fruits on them all, some nearly ripe. Currently need to water them every other day or so - they are all in 8-10 inch pots.

Am soon to go on holiday though and they will be left to fend for themselves for 2 weeks. Obviously they can't stay in the greenhouse or I'll come back to frazzled plants. I seem to have 2 options : leave em outside to fend for theselves and hope there's a nice mixture of warm days and rain without too much wind ....... or .......put em in the garage - its quite light in there (couple of windows) and usually nice and cool, would probably stunt their growth but doubt it would be too damaging.

    Any advice for me?

    Thanks

Your best bet is a neighbour who could pop in. If there is no one you can trust I would invest in a watering system on a timer or drip feeder.

If you leave them outside its sods law it won't rain for two weeks anyway. You'll be thinking about them on holiday!

    no garage,
leave them outside in a sheltered location and as above ask ur neighbour to water, so hope it will rain and if it doesnt, hope ur neighbour wont forget to pop in

If you are going to have to leave them outside plunge the pots in a flower bed, or somesuch, and mulch well with straw / anything so that the evaporation is minimised.

    Thanks, will try that!

Space is not a problem as I can sink them into the raised beds that my onions and garlic have just vacated. Maybe at the side that is shaded from the afternoon sun by our trees.
