When I have my garden remodelled (later this year i think), I will have to move my current old and small shed. I'm going to have a summerhouse in one corner of the garden, and in the other, I'm going to put the new shed.
I'd like a greenhouse, but I'm not sure I've got room for a greenhouse AND a shed. So I've seen these sort of posh potting shed things (they look like a shed with a conservatory attached), and I was wondering if one of those would be any good.

    (A bit like this one
    Combi Greenhouse 8ft x 8ft - Delivery plus Installation)

So would you go with some kind of potting shed idea? Or try to made do with a small shed and try to fit a small greenhouse in as well?

Your link looks a good compromise, but the price! :OUCH:

I'd make do with a smaller shed and a proper greenhouse.

Would that be cheaper? I'm not sure how much they are separately.

Very much cheaper if you are talking about 8X8. The cheaper ones are functional looking, so the more you pay the nicer they look. Go and have a look at some cheap ones in the DIY superstores to get an idea Rachel :dbgrtmb: They will have sheds and greenhouse.

    Hi Rachel.
Yoy really need to sit and think hard before taking the plunge. The Combi 8 x 8 is going to give you a 4' wide shed and a 4' wide greenhouse, and both are pretty narrow. Think about the floor area of your present shed and if you'll have adequate space in a 4 x 8 shed.
Be very wary about buying sheds mail-order as while the photos may look good, they don't give very much clue about the thickness or quality of the wood. We bought our son a shed from a local firm and it was very good quality and then he decided he needed another as a workshop so he bought one mail-order and it was rubbish - you could just about spit peas through it.

Thanks guys. I probably wouldn't buy mail order (for the reasons you mentions!), but I like to look at the pictures to get an idea of what i want.

I really need to try to measure the garden properly so i can get a better idea of what will fit in that space without me losing too much garden. I think that should be my next step. :)
