Whatever will they think of next?

This is a "jukebox" from I'd say the forties and on offer in the USA on ebay.
The customer put their money in the machine which connected them to a female operator to whom they spoke through the grill at the top. They chose their tune from the list and the operator put that record on a turntable the sound of which could be heard through the speaker at the bottom.
I wonder if "she's still there?"
