Its difficult to say, lets face it, if it was easy the Met office wouldn't need to spend millions trying to work it out.
I'm all for a heatwave at Christmas, kinda doubt it though.
    :D
If you bear in mind that the reason for the ropey summer was that the weather was coming from the west most of the time, if that continues through the winter, then we should have a mild wet winter.
If it comes from the east in summer its hot, but in winter its freezing.
Lets not worry about north or south.
    :D

[IMG] I would love a proper cold winter... Might kill off some of the pests & diseases that are on an increase due to the warmer temps..!

[IMG] I was listening to the World Service on the radio a little while back & there was a program about the effects of "La Nina". Little sister to "El Nino"....

This year apparently La Nina is stuck up North. Hence the winds & heavy rains & flooding here, China & parts of Asia. Hurricanes in the Caribbean (been very quiet for a few yrs now) Scorching conditions in Europe & USA. This
    Telegraph link is very good

bbc link explains it a little

[IMG] So who really knows what we will get, but I do agree about it being a "La Nina year".... [IMG]
