    Can't really tell from the photo but it looks as though the heat got to them. Those leaves may not recover but the others look OK.

    Why are you growing them in a greenhouse? Beans don't like excessive heat or very strong sunshine.:sad: Also, that pot is a bit on the small side for beans. They prefer more soil (much better to be planted outside) and a pot that size will dry out too quickly and stunt the growth of the roots. So your crop will be a lot less. :noidea:

      Kimberley, I think it may be a watering problem. How wet is the compost?

        Here's the problem I have just been outside and I have removed 15 slugs not one under 2 inches long and 3 snails. The one beer pot renew this afternoon has about 5 drunks in there, so to stick the beens out would be just playing Russian Rulette I'm in a no win situation unless anyone can think of anything else..

        This morning the large beetroot jar is empty off slugs they've had the best party every..I'm just not winning with the things..I know this is cruel but I'm salting them tonight

        Solution for next year:
        Dig an area well, dig compost and horse manure in, sprinkle lightly with slug pellets, wait a few days, cover soil with porous weed supressant plastic, cut small holes in plastic, plant bean plants in holes, sprinkle very lightly with slug pellets making sure the pellets are not within 18 inches of the plants, very occasionally sprinkle more pellets.

          A lovely suggestion but I own 2 Cocker spaniels who'd be digging and rolling in that for days

          It's good for them! Keeps a nice glossy coat - after they're washed. :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

          Remove 'horse manure' from the recipe. :)

              @kimberly

              Shiney's ground prep for next year sounds good.
              But you may want to consider Climbing French Beans next year also as that variety gets the plants up off the ground.

              This year was my first to try this variety and I have had ten plants growing up 6ft canes arranged wig-wam fashion.

              The result has been fantastic.
              I have been picking a large handful of good beans every day and while I have more than my share of slugs and snail, I haven't lost a single bean to them!
              Could be my imagination, but I do feel that this variety cooks and tastes better than my usual dwarf french bean.

              Although I do scatter a few handfuls of pellets (when I remember) :)
