a few days ago I tried hardening off my aubergine plants, but the wind was too strong and kept blowing them about, causing their roots to loosen. So I brought them back in and now I've noticed on the biggest leaves the green colour is fading Leaving behind pale streaks. I've attached a photo, does anyone know what's wrong?[IMG]

They are not used to direct sunlight so the leaves are becoming bleached, it's too much of a shock for them so you'll need to find somewhere a bit more sheltered from both the wind and the sun. Gradually they will get accustomed to being outside but it will take a couple of week.s

@JWK thanks, I thought they were dying haha. I'll, try putting them in a shady sheltered spot outside tomorrow and see how they get on.

I'd keep them indoors until this nasty weather front moves over, lots of rain/wind is forecast.

Definitely, it's a good thing I didn't put them out they'd have been constantly soaked

Looks like it's going to cold/wet well into next week, keep them snug indoors for the time being :blue thumb:

Is there enough of the season left to bother, especially outdoors?

        Just wondering :dunno:

It's certainly pushing it, if you had a really sheltered sunny spot once it's hardened off then possibly.
