    Hi all,

Have been admiring the bright red foliage on my pieris over the last couple of weeks, but yesterday I noticed that on the highest of the new growth the leaves have gone black - could this just be due to the temperature dropping to near freezing at night over the last couple of days, or could it be something more serious?.

I have 3 plants of differing ages in pots and this has only happened on the largest/oldest which is about 5ft high.

    any opinions would be welcome

    Thanks
    Jim

I would think that they have been frost damaged. Only time will tell.
