    Hi All,

Sorry I know the picture isn't great, but just wondered what these 'worm' creatures are in my pond? Seems to be hundreds of them.

No more than 2-3cm in length.

Any ideas would be great so I can carry out a further investigation!

I heard a trick on Gardeners Question Time last week on how to get rid of them, just add a very small amount of vegetable oil to the water, it forms a film that prevents the larvae from breathing. Might be worth a try as you don't want them buzzing around at night.

Get some goldfish in there if your pond is filtered or if it's big enough some bigger fish. Goldfish will eat absolutely anything.
