I am going to have to remove the growing tips of the greenhouse tomatoes soon, as they are reaching the tops of the supports. The garden tomatoes, started the same day, are only slightly over a foot tall with golf ball sized fruit, while the plants in the greenhouse have several good sized green tomatoes already.

A few from my garden this evening.

The herbaceous bed is brightening up my spirits no end, despite the cold and dull weather of the past week. :)

The 'semi-wild' patch is coming on nicely too.

One of my favourite ornamental grasses, Mace Sedge (Carex Grayi) sits in a pot near the back door.

Another clematis flowering this is my third different type this year, it will be nice when they get more established, unsure what the red flower is but the plant put on a good display last year, I will post more pictures when its more in bloom.

The red flower looks like one of the Papaver's @martin-f, a foliage check would help ID. :)

Papavers can be annuals or perennials Martin, I would suggest yours is the latter unless it has self seeded. :)

I know the photo's not very clear but to me it looks like a Pm somniferum, Opium Poppy. They are prolific self seeders Martin, so they will appear every year. Let us know if you get any with a different colour as that will clinch it

Lovely photo @wiseowl. It seems so strange this year, here's you on Kent and me in Fife yet this year because it has been so mild in comparison to the norm my huge Poppies are nearly over. I'll try to take a photo to match their beauty but will no doubt fail miserably as per the norm:)
