I went to put something in here ... but here did not exist ... so here is December. [IMG]

Having been photographing lots of Aloes recently, I discovered today that my very own Aloe Vera has two blooms starting and for the first time in 6-7 years, babies ...

    Birds of Paradise ...

    Bougainvillea ...

And, of course, my favourite of the moment ... Poinsettia ...

It is, pete and strongy ... but then again, sometimes I'm jealous of you guys with all your green and rain. [IMG]

This is a nice time of year because everything is not scorching and requiring water.

The Jacarandas have never fully dropped their fronds, strongy. [IMG] I have had them 9/10 years and they were five foot tall when I bought them (for a fiver each). The tallest one is to the right of the Bougainvillea ... it's trunk is behind the Aloe. The nicer shaped but shorter one is by the deck behind the Poinsettia. That's the one I photograph all the time. We have lost the tops with a frost but never the lower sections, although I have seen completely exposed ones on the main street in Silves stripped bare barring the seedpods.

At the moment I am inundated with seedpods from last year and, worse still, seedlings popping up everywhere imaginable and even unimaginable! [IMG]

Here's an idea for next christmas, instead of boring old holly berries.

Clivia could , I think, be forced to flower just that little bit earlier and if a point was made to pollenate as many flowers as possible the previous year, maybe you could end up with a mass of flower and red berries in time for Christmas.

Wow, what a bouquet ... you lucky girl. They are all beautiful, but I guess I like the orange ones best.

Actually, my Oranges and Lemons is blooming ... may take a pic. [IMG]

I was just at the kitchen sink and thought I'd take a pic ... it's amazing how quickly the concrete "mosses up" after the rains and the wall planters "run" on the white walls!

Shame about the telephone wires as well. [IMG]

A closeup of the Oranges & Lemons rose which I have picked for the kitchen ... it's so heavenly scented it's a shame for it to be outside. [IMG]
