Well, December is here and after the snow (not a lot in Shineyland) and freeze we have been able to get out in the garden. :gnthb:

In the front garden we have removed some lawn to make more flowerbed.

Before the snow came down we had been digging out some of the compost heaps getting ready to spread them. We got a lot spread on the veggie garden but didn't spread any on the flower beds because of the leaves dropping from the trees. We'll spread it in January.

In the back garden I have just marked out where I shall make another bed wider. It will give us an extra 200 sq ft.

We just moved this stone pedestal from the back garden to a secluded area in the front with the help of our neighbour. We think it will look good when the plants around it are in growth.

And where that came from we have put 'Rosemary' - that was the name on her when we bought her.

Behind her is a purple magnolia that is over 30 yrs old but doesn't grow more than 5ft high. It tends to flower from late April until July/August.

Amazingly, this is still flowering (photo taken today) after the sub-zero temperatures.

    Thanks Peter.

We only had about two inches of snow so it cleared up quickly yesterday. Although today was just above freezing the sunshine made it good to work in. :thumb:

Hi Shiney, I enjoyed looking at those thankyou - I know which part of the garden you are referring to now! It's great that you have been able to get out there, it hasn't been at all inviting here and now the snow is thawing everywhere looks even worse.
