Having lost all the blooms off the Almond Tree due to our recent and ongoing stormy weather, I was delighted today to see this first blossom on the Prunus Cerasifera 'P i s sardi' , the lovely cherry-sized plum.

I was so pleased I changed my avatar from the Almond Blossom to the Plum Blossom ... but sorry if it's blurry but I cropped and reduced the photo for the avatar and then had to enlarge it for this ....:dh:.... no worries, I'll get the hang of photography soon ....:hehe:

.... and just for fun I've had to go back into my files and Photobucket whilst typing this and rename my photo as GC wouldn't accept the named variety ..... :ntwrth:

How lovely Sis, capney andr roders. Roders, your daffs are well ahead of our, now just poking their leaves out of the ground.

My Epiphyllum has bloomed every year for years.

It has always been red and the flowers were 4-5 inches long. For some odd reason, this year it has produced flowers this colour and they are about an inch smaller.

:) Hi, Sis ... I had actually asked if that was the Aunt Rene plant then deleted that as I thought the blooms on it were pink ... or is the Algoz one pink? What did I do with the one you brought down here? give it to Mick? perhaps I should get some back .... :hehe:

No, you gave it to Aly. You said it was too sprawly for you :D

Mine was always a nice clear red, must be a pic of it here somewhere. I can't remember what colour the Algoz one was, but light, I do know that. Must be a pic here of it, too.

Iris had a clipping off of the one I had for you, and it went mad when she repotted it up as several new plants. Perhaps she can bring you one the next time they are in Portugal.

:) Hey-ho ... let's see how we go ... These are the first pics with my new camera ....

The Cyclamen now blooming for a couple of months but still more .... one in the pedestal pot between the ones flowering and one behind the trough, yet to show their faces ... they bloom for about 5-6 months months here outside in a sheltered position ... they are always a treat to greet me as I go down the path ....

And a surprise today as the Lantana was massacred ready for the Spring ... a strawberry .... :D

    Very nice indeed, Sis! :thumb:

How are you getting along with it? But I guess it is too early to say yet.

I can't compete with any of your lovely photos, but I went outside today and was reminded of where I thought the garden used to be as there signs of brown appearing through the snow. I also noticed a number of polyanthus were out, and (surprise!) one of last years wall flowers, that I had forgotten to pull out, already had a few blooms on it.

Achmea Pinelliana, bought as an offset from Madeira Exotics on ebay last April. Didn't expect it to flower so soon and it has two offsets of it's own already. The tiny flowers are yellow at the bottom.
