Well, there's nothing really exciting here to be honest but I have my first Thevetia peruvianas opening, less their leaves and they are more orangey than peachy this year ...

And I have this little concrete planter on the dining patio (attempting to hide my shed door) in which I have Violas (orange & purple and black), Mandevilleas (their second year having overwintered), and a Stephonotis heaving with buds that I've had for three years and is only inches high .... :cnfs: ....

And Pete, if you're reading this, those things climbing up the trellis are the two seeds miraflores sent us from Luca in Italy two years ago was it? I'm still waiting to see the result .....

I'd be pretty excited if that was open here in my garden. Everything is coming to life here so just a few.

Now I'm jealous .... you can see how dry we are getting already and have been up to 30 most of the week ..... we may have rain this coming weekend .... fingers crossed because we'll go for 5-7 months with no rain and a hose doesn't do the same job, if you know what I mean, ie, SOAKING the earth.

It's pics like yours Claire that make me miss England ... enjoy for you and me, please ... :)

Must say your photography has come leaps and bounds lately .... :gnthb:

Thankyou Victoria-I watch first now before I go round clicking, amazing the things you spot when you stand still for a minute.

Don't suppose you have any idea about which clematis it may be do you?

Sorry, no love, I can't 'do' Clematis here as much as I want to ...assume you're talking about that gorgeous 'and in flower now fourth picture' ?????

We are too hot and dry, except for the winter when we are wet ... hopefully ...

In saying that, I have many of my English houseplants outside and have been for 5-9 years ... that's in my one of my two shady areas I hasten to add ... :hehe:

No it's not that Granny-darned filthy habit of tossing labels away.

A couple of shots of of this that popped to life today.

I love this shade of orange, and so apt for the sunny weather.

My son said it's like drinking a tall glass of fresh orange juice-I think he's hit the nail on the head.

That's stunning, Claire. I planted a whole packet of Californian Poppy but nothing has come up. :cnfs:

However, my first Sweet Peas have opened today ...

I was thinking back to many years ago when I had Clematis ... I had The President, Miss Bateman and an alpina/macropetala one. Looking at yours again, it may be a Miss Bateman ...
