HOT colours woo. That is truly beautiful strongy. Oh, Peter, the true English Country Garden.

My Plumbago 'Royal Cape' has started blooming outside my kitchen window (the colour is not as vibrant this year) ..

... and outside my kitchen door the tomatoes are ripening (they are between 2-4cm across, very sweet as we've had about a dozen this weekend, but hae no idea what they are called ...

Lovely photos, everyone. Victoria, that plumbago is gorgeous. It could do with a prettier name, don't you think? '(P)lumbago' always sounds a bit like back pain!

    :) Stunning woo.

I agree with you ClaraLou, it's a dreadful name and it's other common name is no better 'Leadwort' :help:. There is a red one called Plumbago indica 'rosea' which I have only seen pictures of but would love to have one.

    Hi Victoria

How interesting that its common name is 'leadwort', since 'plumbum' is Latin for 'lead'. I wonder if there is a connection or whether it's just coincidence? (Sorry, can't help it. I'm a word geek :)).

... according to Wiki, it might be so-named because (a) the flowers are a lead-blue colour, (b) the sap creates lead-coloured stains on the skin or (c) Pliny's belief that it was a cure for lead-poisoning. :)
