    Thank you, bobj.

I don't know about aluminium sulphate but they do sell "something" here that "blues" them. Mine is in the same soil as last year which is why I am confused.

I think I remember my uncle (Sis?) emptying the contents of the teapot onto them as well as the roses. That is tanic / tanin?

Lovely colour, Kandy, and it looks like it will open into one of those beautiful "full" blooms.

Yeah I think it aluminium sulphate as well bobj, but also pink flowers tend to grow in alkaline conditions and blue in acid, hence the tanic acid LOL.

Maybe I'll have the pink this year then and start with the tea next year ... blue one year, then pink, then blue ... [IMG]

Can't see it for the three metres of builders sand and twenty bags of cement. I managed to get the photo from inside the little pergola.

Very nice, both LoL and Kandy.

Sis, I remember Uncle telling me ink turns them blue or bluer. But tea is good too. I tried the ink on a potted Hydranger once and I got the most beautiful really dark blue. I emptied a few ink cartridges (blue and an odd black one)into a liter bottle of water and alternated this ink-water with regular water, about once ink-water to 2-3 times plain water.

Yes, I meant to put that as well about the ink cartridges and I have a pack of them here I bought specially as you told me about that!

I'm wondering if I want to do the pink ... blue .. pink ... ????

It's lovely and healthy as you can see behind the builders' materials ...

We have two, both of them blue. A big straggly one and a small compact one. I'll put pics up once they are open.

Do blue this year since you have the ink.

[IMG] Very nice pics and flowers!

I learnt something new today... about Hydrangea's... Hydra, meaning hydrated, meaning they need tonnes of watering... so I am told by a man at work [IMG] But anyway... hehe

Beautiful Strongy. But you do make us work :D . I couldn't find anything on the internet though I did manage to find your namesake - strongylodon macrobotrys. I presume you grow that.

Oh, strongy ... besides roders tonight, I quite disliike you also! I keep peering at mine closely and see nothing! Mine must be three years old as well. Are they always white? I'm quite lucky if I can get anywhere near it with the builders' thingies in my way everywhere ... it's a nightmare. I think I'll never find my plants or garden ever again. I'll have to disappear into the hills and do photography forever.

PS I have to learn how to use the camera properly first because I don't seem to have the hang of it yet! Think I'm okay on long shots but close up ....
