Whats Looking Good In October

Still full of lovely cheery colours , unfortunately no sunshine today.

 

Lots going on there still Upsy.

 

Not a good time of the year now, often we still have a look of summer on the 1st of October, just wonder how things will look by the end of October.
Still got the remnants of summer holding on like others have.

@pete So pleased you have a colourful garden to sit out in ... or look at from the Conservatory.

 

The small Tecomaria capensis (Cape Honeysuckle) in the Sand Garden has started to bloom ahead of her mother in the lower border ...

 

Mixed Nerines.

 

This must be this plant's 4th flowering for this year.
Its actually a darker pink than it appears in the picture, calliandra surinamensis.

 

The hanging baskets still looking good.
Still got a few flowers on this hardy fuchsia, usually it's finished at this time.

 

@pete Is your Calliandra in the ground or a pot? I have to over winter mine in the greenhouse as it doesn't like temperatures below 5c min. Labels say much higher.

 

Its in a pot, and I thought I'd probably lose it last winter, pushed under the staging in a greenhouse barely above freezing for most of December.
It surprised me, it survived, and with a pot on it was slightly neglected out on the allotment for the first part of summer, where it flowered once, then I increased watering and it just kept coming.
Its loaded with buds now and still outside, but the rain ruins the flowers.
