My six year old granddaughter Ava wanted to try cantaloupes in her small garden on our property. I doubted that the season would be long enough, or warm enough, to produce decent melons. I was wrong, today we picked the first melon and there are a dozen more coming along. This time I really don't mind being wrong.

Eustoma - I bought this plant at half price since it was badly wind damaged. It does know how to thank me :blue thumb:.

Rhodochiton - It took a long time to germinate, then it developed very slowly, and it has only just started to flower:phew:. So long as I remember to bring it indoors before the frost arrives it should be able to flower, on my window sill, all the way through winter into next year.

                      A. Hypochondriacus and A. Tricolor. Though the latter was never quite as tri-coloured as I expected. The seeds were from RHS seed distribution and they don't always come true as they are open pollinated.

Ours are now taking over. The giant one in the greenhouse has been trying to escape through the roof.

Can't wait for this years RHS seed list I've had lots of lovely and different plants from their seed, I've just planted out quite a few Dactylicapnos Scandens in the wood grown last spring and a few even have flowers, they seemed to do nothing for ages then went bananas quite a job untangling them all before planting :rolleyespink:, mixed Siberian and Ensata iris are coming on a treat to :hapydancsmil:
