I thought I would start this month off :)

Some of these are a bit of a cheat as I think I took them at the very end of August but have only just downloaded them.

    scabious are still flowering

I don't usually notice how pretty the green part at the back of a sunflower looks

Some of the campanula are flowering again

The seed heads of the phytolacca are turning from purple to a shiny black

Mina lobata is still climbing well

Our garden is mainly a spring garden but we have been working on it to try and bring some late colour into it. During the summer we seem to be so busy with our crops and other interests and we neglect the garden a bit.

The cyclamen bed is just starting to flower again

Mrs shiney has a 20ft x 2.5ft bed of chinese lanterns and they are now coming ready to pick

Fruit is doing well this year, greengages finished, victoria plums nearly finished but our black plums are still to ripen

    Apples and pears doing great

That is certainly all looking great, Shiney. :gnthb: I'd be happy if we even had just a quarter of that in our garden. For various reasons, our garden is looking rather poor this summer. So it is especially nice when other members post up pics of their garden for me to see. Thank you. k-l

It looks great Shiney, a very varied mix there, and all looking very good.
What kind of fir is that?

Not sure the tomato idea will catch on.:D

    Fantastic selection Shiney.:gnthb:

I realised I posted a pic of this Agapanthus Enigma exactly a month ago and it is still flowering today with a lot of seed pods forming, far better and longer than the Headbourne Hybrids and Purple Cloud.

Alstroemeria, this one has just started to flower, later than most.

    More lovely pics. :gnthb:

I've never seen a white Agapanthus tinged with lilac, or any colour for that matter. Sis recently showed a pic of her blue one with a white stripe down the middle of the petals, had never seen such ones before either. All sorts of beautiful "new" flowers to view and enjoy.

I've tried the Alstroemeria a couple of times, but just not had any luck with them. So it is nice when someone else has them and shares with us.

    Thanks strongy.

A great show Shiney. Very well done.
You could work on those tomatoes - I believe the Japanese are growing square ones for easy slicing.

Love your Agapanthus Strongylodon. I've never seen a white one.
When I get all the basics sorted out here (I've only been in this garden 2 years) Agapanthus is on the list.

Really beautiful shiney. We are still in the heat of our summer so I really have nothing to show.

Strongy, I just love that Agapanthus. We were over to friends today for a BBQ and swim afternoon who are visiting from Bucks and have rented a villa here and there were zillions of Agapanthus seeds (I think white) so I collected a whole bagload I also took some rootings of Tulbaghia violacea (wild garlic) of which I only have one root and they had clumps and clumps and clumps and I want to plant some on Rasputin's grave rockery in the Autumn.

My Alstromeria from a couple of years has just started flowering again, very late here and not really good.

Alice, if you want some seeds, please let me know ... white are as popular here as blue.

Sis, I would like to have a few of those seeds, too, please. Also, if your white-striped blue Agapanthus gets seeds, a couple of those as well, please. k-l k-l

The wild garlic is very popular in Florida, makes a lovely show, alone or with other plants.

    0) Will do Sis. I only had two seedpods on mine and they suddenly disappeared but were still green.

I haven't got much blooming at the moment but my Podranea ricasoliana is now about 10 meters long .... it starts at one side of the kitchen patio goes up and across the deck on top of the outside living room, turns and heads for the back door creating a veil down our bedroom wall. It and the shade sail give much-needed shade to the kitchen dining patio ... these pictures were taken in the mid-day sun.

The first picture is what I see when I am sitting here at the computer and it looks 'dark' beyond the gate because that path is under one of the Jacarandas.

Absolutely beautiful, Sis. :gnthb: A lovely way to create shade and I do like the vines hanging down the wall, too.
