Calycanthus raulstonii "Hartlage Wine" which I planted in February. These are the first flowers, a bit like Magnolia or a tiny water lily.

Opinions please! :) Does the bluey-purple of this Aquilegia go OK with the pinky-red of the Heuchera Helen Dillon, or would these be better further apart? The Aquilegia is currently in a pot and this is its first yr, so I have resisted planting it out till I could see the flower colour.

My Dublin Bay was out of control. 10ft + stems shooting off the top of the pergola.
I cut it back to sticks a couple of years ago. More string than stems at the moment ( you have to train it when the stems are whippy or they break off)
It's covered in flower buds. The flowers have a wonderful scent.
Well worth the effort to be able to sniff them without a ladder!
