Sorry Roders - I've ben waiting for you to start this, and have had to do it myself.....

My Passion Flower has been in bud for a little while now - I just have to show it now, in case the frosts come and destroy them Nobody will believe it - out of doors in East of Scotland...... Don't mention the dreaded GW

Thats lovely Pete, my clivia flowered just after Christmas, some seeds ripened and some are still green on the plant, I collected the ones which went briwn, but most of them are still on the plant green. Any ideas on growing them from seed - I do love them, even the glossy leaves without flowers.

My Victoria Passiflora is still going strong but the colour is not as deep in the winter ...

The Verbenas seem to bloom non stop ... these were planted in the big concrete pots in October ...

And my Freesias are now all opening ...

Hand on heart, I have not touched up the colours!

Yes, forgot to say, pete, love the colour of your Clivia, a bit of a "here" colour! [IMG]

Thanks K-G .. you'll have to have a go again with the Freesia. I couldn't manage them in England!

I love the orange/red/brown best, Waco, and they are all the last to open. Have the white, yellow and now the purple. These are English bulbs, to bloom in the Autumn but they always bloom here February/March - April.

Thanks, Kandy, but you have all your lovely bulbs and Spring flowers now to cheer you!

As it happens Waco, I'am in the process of growing one from seed, but I think it will be slow, division is a better way of propagating.
My seed actually germinated on the plant, that is, I found a berry on the plant with roots already growing out of it.

Kandy, Your yellow one is probably less well known than my orange one, would like to see a pic when it flowers.

Ok Pete,I have started watering it because the books say to let it have a rest over the winter. The ones in the garden centres I think have special treatment to force them into flower. The yellow ones haven't been around for that long....

If its any help, mine spends the summer in total shade in the garden, I bring into the greenhouse in October and just leave it, no watering no nuffing.
At Christmas I move it to a porch thats frost free but shaded and pretty cold, a slight watering and within days the first flowers start to come up from between the leaves.
It then flowers for about three months, by which time its nearly OK to go outside again.

LOL, freesias are winter growers as far as I know.
The ones we buy over here are specially treated to get them to flower in the summer, after their first summer I find that they revert to winter growing.
