There are loads of ways to express cheers. Which do you reckon is the best?

I've got: cheers, chin-chin, salud, kampai, yammas, wassail.

I like kampai, which I'm told by my Taiwanese mate is Taiwanese (not Chinese), wassail, which of course is ye olde English, and yammas, which is Greek.

It is an Australian womans quote

On the cruises our hostess was Christine an Australian
Whenever we had a glass of wine or two at reception it was
Up Yer bum Then you slung it down your neck
          The reply was No babies

I think it was lost on a lot of cruising type Brits in their dinner suit tuxs, but to a rough tough matelot :-)

Purley platonic, but the rest of the cruise, she invited US (Julie and I)
          to all the freebies going
Jack their is a Masonic drinks evening
Jack the tour today, stay at my table freebie staff drinks and food
Jack Their is a Friends of Dorothy evening free drinks :-)

Cheapest cruise I have ever done apart from the next one she was on
I did not walk off they poured me off

          Jack McH

            cheers all.

Wife says, please can you add phonetic spellings for some of the foreign ones, or at least a clue as to which language it is, so that we might get the pronunciation somewhere near right?:)

            Many thanks. cheers, wassail:dbgrtmb:
