What's this one ?

    Bought this little plant in a Tiger novelty plant pot holder . It's some form of cactus methinks but what type ?- it's about 5" tall.

    Hi Harry,
    I don't know which one ( if there is more than one ), it's a Pachypodium. I had one once and all the leaves fell off and it died :(

      I agree its a Pachypodium, likes a bit more warmth in winter than cacti do.
      The leaves tend to be deciduous.

      I still tended to let mine dry out quite a bit especially overwinter.
      They get quite big if you pot them on, eventually mine was too big and ended up in the cool greenhouse where it died.

        Pachypodium lamerei can make a nice specimen in a warm conservatory..............

          @longk , yours is a bit bigger than ours ! :biggrin:
          Lovely plant there Longk :blue thumb: So they are not a cactus ? Just googled fully grown specimans in Madagascar 20 feet tall !!

            A succulent Harry.
            Only cacti that has leaves is some opuntias, (Prickly pear), and they are very short lived.
