What\'s this 002.JPG This planted itself by the garden gate last Autumn . I liked the leaf shape so I potted it up and it 's been in the cold frame over Winter. Looks too healthy - must be a weed!! Help please...:dunno:

Chrysanthemum? Wouldn't expect that much leaf so early in the year, nor that it would have seeded itself ... so probably not!

    Nice tiles though :)

    Yeah, some close-ups please :)

Could it be an Astrantia. It's too early for them up here in Lancashire as we've not finished with winter yet, but seeing as you're in Sussex with a near Meditteranean climate, anythings possible.

Could really use a larger photo, but I'll chuck my hat in with an Aconitum or Delphinium.

Thanks so much the many confusing replies. It was by sheer fluke that I got anything from "my pictures" on my computer to this Identification thread. I will try with a better camera in the morning. I will smother myself in Factor 50 first though Juan 'cos, as you point out - it's almost tropical down here....
Are you all on whacky baccy?

Looks like you've taken the photo from the bathroom window, but I would go along with mugwort too.

No ziggy, it's a soft, fine young looking green leaf that something's now found in the cold frame and is munching bits off! I will get a better piccie in the morning.

The patio is Spanish porcelain -arm and a leg job but, it's the most important "room" in the house-south facing and quite well protected. Roll on Spring and Summer:love30:
