Whats wrong with apple tree trunk

    Hi my old appe tree trunks are really ugly i don't know why (as I recently moved to this house so I have no clue). Anyway to make it look better? 20170701_212606.jpg

    I like the look of old apple trees; their gnarled sculpted beauty. Can you post some more pictures; you said trees. If you really don't like them you could, I suppose, grow something up them.

      I have an old apple tree in my garden, and agree with Redwing. I love how old and gnarled mine looks. Would also suggest growing a light climber - perhaps a clematis with brightly coloured flowers? I've resisted growing anything up it though, as the tree is in a very large raised bed and I'd worry about damage to the tree. I've had tall growing feverfew around it though, which hasn't harmed it and provided a bright splash of colour, which would also attract the eye away from looking at the trunk.

        You can buy olive trees with grossly gnarled bark at stupid prices.
        And people love them.:smile:
        I think your apple trees look great.:)

          If its fine then its ok i thought it might not have some disease.
