    Good afternoon everyone.

I recentlly brought a lupin plant from a garden centre and it has been establishing itself and then the main stem collapsed this week and some of the leaves shrivelled. Could this be caused by the heat and how can I fix it. Have given it lots of watering si IMG_1209.jpg IMG_1210.jpg

Plant is in direct sunlight in a south facing garden in London.

On a hot windy day, they do lose water fast. Check it first thing in the morning. If it is not looking perky then, it might not be a watering problem.

Check for slug damage at the base of the stem.

Give the base of the plant 3 litres of water first thing in the morning every other day during this hog dry spell.

    HI @Dovefromabove.

Found a tiny slug on the other stem.

Removed this stem as could see it was rotting and had to be removed. Hopefully the rest of the plant will carry on growing.

This plant was a replacement for a Dahlia which survived the winter in the ground but which was destroyed by the insane amounts of slugs we've had this past rubbish spring :(
