    Hi All,

As a tool supplier, trying to engage a forum full of gardening individuals. I have started this thread, as I think this is the best way to meet you all!

So here is my little thread, asking you all what gardening tool do you own that you just couldn't do without?. Do you use this tool on a daily basis and what's it best used for.

Pictures are optional, but would be appreciated.

Ill kick it off with a picture of my best hand tool. My Hand Root Tool, I use it for weeding and its awesome for removing entire root systems. I reach for this tool when ever I'm tidying flower beds through to removing stubborn established weeds. I would be lost without it, I'm just lucky I have a few to hand ;)

      Hi Joolz,

do you have an image, is the cultivator a trident hand held or on the end of a beech pole.

      Regards

      Simon

A trowel, but with a narrow, sharply pointed 'blade', and a soft (rubber not wooden handled) handle with a sloping top so it doesn't gouge a hole into your hand when planting hundreds of plants, like the tool illustrated above would.

The same as Scrungee...a narrow "bladed" trowel with measurements on it so I can plant at proper depths, useful for weeding and made of toughened plastic as they can take some punishment. They are also as cheap as chips. They need to be as I'm always losing them.

          Hi Scrungee,

Is this the trowel your describing? our one has a metal handle. However its the second most popular version we sell after the wooden handle version.

Mine would have to be my trusty steak knife which I've been using for weeding for over 10 years. No tool will beat getting on your hands and cutting out weeds. Didn't cost me anything either.

I also love my vintage onion hoe which I picked up from a bootsale for 2 quid.

              Hi Jane,

Now I really want to see a picture of your onion hoe. We have a tool that we call a "shark tooth hoe" but at a recent spring fair. A lovely older gentleman picked it up and said "oh an onion hoe, not seen one of them in years" That was the first time I had heard of an onion hoe.

              Kind Regards

              Simon

It allows me to tell Mrs Dave exactly what needs doing in the garden.

Only kidding, it's actually these which are great to get rid of pesky weeds.
Mrs Dave says they work a treat.

It basically looks like the hand held hoes you are currently selling on your website. But with a more curved top. Some people call them hand hoes but most call them onion hoes because they are mostly used for hoeing around your onion/shallot crop. Shall take some pictures later on for you.

Also have PM'd you :blue thumb:
