I bought some wheat bran. Not breakfast cereal, just wheat bran.

I bought it because I want to increase my fibre in my diet. But I didn't think that far ahead, because I'm not sure what to do with it, in a way that will actually be palatable.

    Any suggestions?

Make briquettes, that's what we used to do with all our wood shavings.

As others have said, mix it in with other ingredients to to conceal its blandness . :dbgrtmb:

Yes like the others, it has to be mixed with something else like porridge and when you have to use flour put some in. You can increase the fibre in your diet if you eat foods with skins on, like baked beans, peas, potatoes with skin on and whole meal bread, it's good to reduce the meat and dairy products.

                    I did a little experiment.

I mixed some bran with milk, and nothing else. See I like to start with a basic base then build up

It was, as some of you have already said, bland and with a really boring texture.

So I added some ground cinnamon and some pumpkin seeds. Much better but still needs work. I have a feeling I'm just reinventing over priced breakfast cereal, but that's not a bad thing for two reasons, being that it's cheaper and I can tailor it to my nutritional goals.

I think it will benefit from some chopped nuts, and maybe some dried fruit pieces. We'll see.

The bag I ordered was considerably larger than I expected. When I say bag, the delivery guy turned up grasping a big box to his chest and leaning back to counterweight it a bit. I mean it's not huge, but I when I saw the box, my first thought was I ordered one kilo of tomato powder, and some bran, so how big is the bran? It's not enormous, but suffice to say I have yet to find kitchen cupboard space for it. Right now the sack is still in the hallway standing up in the large box it came in, while I ponder where to keep it.

Wheat bran has no weight to it as it's the outer case/skin of wheat and has no goodness but high in fibre

I've heard that if you mix it with cement it's pretty good at fixing cracks in concrete .;)
