    Hello all

    I Hope you are Well.

I have a Couple of Shrubs that have developed overlong Upright Shoots.

Can I Shorten these Branches by Pruning them to a Bud lower down the Branch or should the Branch be removed entirely?

    Thanks in advance

    Kevin

It would help to know what type of shrubs they are?

    Hello @Butterfly6

    Sorry about that

The Two I am currently looking at are Ninebark 'Burning Embers' and Weigela 'Florida Variegata'.

    Thanks

You can prune them both back down to a healthy bud. If congested you can tpremove a branch completely

        Hello @Butterfly6

Thanks for the Reply and the Information.

I have now Tidied them Both, they now look much Better.

Also, since the Ninebark 'Burning Embers' and Weigela 'Florida Variegata' have Weeping Habits, according to what I can find Online, I have Removed any Branches that were Growing Straight Up, some of which were nearly 8' Tall.

        Thanks

        Kevin
