    Good afternoon:smile:

When This Country Returns to Normal.

When this country returns to normal will someone give me a shout,
I'm sick of hearing you can't say this or that, what can we talk about,
When this country returns to normal & the sick can see a doctor once more,
Instead of waiting at the back of the queue to those who came via the back door,
When this country returns to normal can we just have girls & boys,
Instead of upsetting anyone & them throwing out their toys,
When this country returns to normal & our statues stand proud once more,
Showing everyone we are proud of our history, as we were before,
When our country returns to normal & we can sing the songs we like,
And stop tip toeing around Tom D--k & Harry, just tell them to take a hike,
When this country returns to normal & we are looked after, us Brits,
Perhaps this once great country will stop falling to bits,
When this country returns to normal & stops feeling like a bad dream,
With money going here & there & every other failed scheme,
When this country returns to normal & dinghies no longer invade our shore,
We can have Great Britain back, as it was once before,
When this county returns to normal & English is the spoken word,
Maybe at long last, the British voices will be heard.

Hi @pete I am so pleased that I was lucky enough to have spent most of my life when it was the "Old Normal";)

All I see in the future is a more restricted lifestyle, mainly due to peoples attitude these days, it seems if its possible to actually do something people will, regardless of how it might affect others, so then we have to bring in a law to stop it happening.

We cant stop littering or people getting stabbed, nobody appears to be responsible for their own actions, its always because "nobody told me that it was dangerous".

I have given up caring, because nobody else does.

            You are Jiffy.:roflol:

                Definitely not me!

I've been told I'm not normal, all my life.

I must say I do miss things that we used to call normal and try not to worry too much about how I say things. I follow ways that I consider non-offensive but I can't help it if others get offended by it and don't let it upset me.

Having said that, there are also good things that have replaced bad.

I treat females (am I allowed to call them that?) with the respect they deserve (I decide what they deserve but tend to follow the way I was taught as a youth). I still use she/he, Mr/Mrs and him/her when referring to people and don't use nonbinary or gender neutral words (can't keep up with the way they keep changing those). If they are people who are offended by that small difference from the way they wish then they are people that I'm happy not to meet.

I'm happy in my world, not bothering about minor interpretations, and I wish them all the happiness they can have in their world.

I think that these "woke" times make me realize that for the most part, I have chosen my friends well. They're sense of what's right and wrong are based on ethical and moral choices, not "feelings" or facades. Or thinking they are entitled in some way.

The average person here is starting to push back against the woke. At the same time I am told to tolerate all others, they should be prepared to exercise tolerance of me!

It is sad the, "I'm here now, so make room and get out of the way" is how many umpteenth generation Canadians translate how this recent diaspora of newcomers behaves. While demanding their rights they want to slice off pieces from the rights of those already here.

I wait to discover attitudes before pulling away from people. If you're woke, I walk.

In the UK, as far as I can tell, 'normal' seems to involve attaching labels to people so we don't have to acknowledge they're human.
