    Afternoon all,

I have a couple of Senetti plants in tubs and understand the need for dead heading. I am not sure when the optimal time to do it with this plant.

I have attached a pic when you can see the colour is fading on some heads - are these ready to be dead headed now or should they be actually dead?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

I have experimented with Senettii to, hopefully, extend its flowering into summer.
After their normal spring flowering I cut them hard back. They grew back but their summer performance was far less impressive....short, less floriferous etc.
Dead heading seems to make no difference to Senettii’s blooming performance. For aesthetic reasons you can cut off fading flowers but I think they are best grown as annuals and discarded when flowering is over :)

Thank you very much both! I did feel silly writing it as i know they arent dead, but i also saw you cut them when faded. It makes sense though what you say and given your experience with senetti’s @Verdun i think ill leave it.
