    Evening all,

I was just wondering if any shops sell the above?

I know there are sites online that sell them but not sure which sites I should buy them from?

I don't recall coming across them whilst buying other bits and bobs on my general retail shop rummergings.

    Many thanks,

    Samuel

      Evening Samuel,

Most supermarkets & greengrocers sell Ginger, a Lady was buying a Sweet Potato from the greengrocers when I was in there 2 days ago.

Did you mean Jerusalem or Globe Artichokes?

I think Morrisons carry all that sort of thing.

The only one of those things I haven't seen everywhere, is the artichoke.

A good tip, seeing as I see from your profile that you're in London (this applies in every major city I've encountered) is to find a market (actual market, not supermarket) that is popular with Asian folk. There you will find just about all the better fruit and veg and roots and herbs, often at a fraction of the price of the supermarkets.

I remember shopping once when I lived in Sheffield, when I needed some fresh chillis for a meal I was planning. I grabbed a handful of the best ones and give them to the man to weigh and price up. In the supermarkets you'd have been looking at £3, maybe £4 for the quantity I'd picked up. I was pleasantly surprised when it was pence, significantly less than a quid.

If you only want a few chiles the Asian shops round here usually throw them in for free.

Samuel_1988, if you want them for growing on I think you have to buy specially prepared slip plants of sweet potato, the tubers you buy will not sprout. Ginger and Jerusalem artichokes should sprout fine, asparagus is a cut shoot so will not grow.
